Catamounts Wrap Up Weekend at ITA Regionals

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis concluded its weekend on Saturday at the ITA Carolina Regionals as sophomore Jade Groen fell in straight sets to #72 Abigail Rencheli of N.C. State in the Round of 16.

Groen finished her fall season with a 7-1 record in singles which included six straight set victories for the Zoetermeer, Netherlands native.

Following the ITA's, WCU is 30-14 in singles play this fall led by seven wins by Groen and Isabella Sambola.

Western Carolina is set to send four players to Spartanburg for the Wofford Invite to close out the fall which begins on Friday, November 10th. The four scheduled to take part in the tournament are sophomores Chloe Schwarz, Dasha Osadova, Madison Schwarz and junior Andrea Redondo.
