Tennis Concludes Fall at Wofford Invite

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis closed out the fall season on Sunday in singles play at the Wofford Fall Invite.

The tournament schedule was altered once again on Sunday due to weather creating havoc for the teams in Spartanburg.

Junior Andrea Redondo picked up a three-set comeback win over Martina Zarza from Jacksonville State on Sunday before falling in her final match of the fall to Emma Sorensen from SoCon foe Wofford.

Dasha Osadova bounced back from a tough two-set defeat on Sunday against Valeria Lloclla of Gardner-Webb to close out the fall with a three-set win over Radford's Rachel Ekanem. The sophomore needed a pair of tiebreakers in the second and third set to defeat Ekanem.

Madison Schwarz suffered a tough three-set defeat against Avery Sager from UNC Asheville before falling two sets to host Catherine Blouin from Wofford in her final match of the fall. Chloe Schwarz fell in a three-set battle against Mercer's Tea Zivic in her lone singles match on Sunday.

WCU tennis will turn its attention to the spring 2024 season with the schedule to be released later in the calendar year.
