Catamounts Travel to Wofford Saturday

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's travels to Wofford Saturday for a 2 p.m. tip-off at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Wofford meet for the 60th time on Saturday. The Catamounts halted a two-game losing streak to the Terriers defeating Wofford 53-49 in Cullowhee on Jan. 12, 2023. The win over Wofford halted the Catamounts' 17-game losing streak in conference games. Western Carolina is 14-11 in games played at Wofford. The Terriers are 7-3 against Western Carolina in the last 10 meetings.
  • Junior Joi Reid ripped down a career-high 14 rebounds against Furman Feb. 9.
  • Junior Mya Love has scored in double figures in the last six games and eight of the last nine. In the last six games she is averaging 13.5 points per game. That is three points above her seasonal average of 10.5 points per contest.
  • Kyla Allison is the first Catamount since Jewell Smalls (2018-19, 2019-20) to score 500 or more points in her first two seasons with Western Carolina. She is also the first WCU player to score 300 or more in a season, she currently has 305, since Smalls scored 379 in the 2019-20 season.
  • Reid and Endia Holliday have both ripped down double figure rebounds in at least two games on the year. Reid leads overall having had six double figure rebounds in a game on the year.
 AN INSIDE LOOK AT WOFFORD:
  • Wofford is coming off a loss to UNCG, 68-64.
  • As a team, Wofford paces the conference in assist/turnover ratio (1.11), fouls per game (14.3), scoring offense (69.9), three point attempts per game (26.3), threes made per game (8.3), turnover margin (+5.83) and turnovers per game (10.5).
  • The Terriers are second in scoring margin (+4.7) and steals per game (7.7) while ranking third in free throws made per game (11.39), three-point percentage (31.6) and turnovers forced per game (16.30).
  • Wofford's 10.5 turnovers per game are third-fewest in the NCAA. In combination with the amount the Terriers force, they boast the 16th-best turnover margin in the nation at +5.83. Wofford is shooting the 14th-most threes per game at 26.3 while knocking down the 24th-most per game at 8.3. With an assist-turnover ratio of 1.11, Wofford ranks 42nd in the NCAA while also committing the 34th-fewest fouls per game at 14.3.
