Catamount Tennis Begins Three-Match Homestand Friday

Doubleheader on Friday

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis returns home this weekend hosting Queens University of Charlotte and Young Harris in a doubleheader beginning at noon Friday, and Georgia State at 11 a.m. Saturday all at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
 
NEWS & NOTES
  • Western Carolina returns home after four matches on the road.
  • WCU opened the season at home, Jan. 21, sweeping Lenoir-Rhyne.
  • The Catamounts will play its second double header of the season after playing a pair of matches at Tennessee Feb. 1.
  • In the match at UNC Asheville, Feb. 12, freshman Jade Groen earned a win at No. 3 doubles and No. 4 singles.
  • Groen leads the team with a 3-1 record in singles play.
  • Queens enters the match 0-4 searching for its first win of the season.
  • The match with Young Harris will be an exhibition for the Mountain Lions.
  • Georgia State comes into Cullowhee Saturday winless with an 0-6 record. This will be the Panthers second tangle with a team from the Southern Conference. GSU dropped a 2-5 decision to Mercer Feb. 4.
