CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis returns home Sunday to defend its three-match win streak at the Catamount Athletic Complex hosting Gardner-Webb at 2 p.m.

- Western Carolina is coming off a strong performance against Southern Conference perennial powerhouse Furman. The Catamounts took two singles matches against the Paladins, with wins at No. 3 (Jade Groen) and No. 4 (Angela Perez), for the first time in program history.
- The loss to Furman Feb. 22 snapped the Catamounts' three-match winning streak.
- Groen leads the Catamounts with six wins in singles.
- Western Carolina and Gardner-Webb meet for the 20th time on Sunday. The Runnin' Bulldogs lead the overall series 13-6. The Catamounts won last season's meeting 6-1 in Boiling Springs, N.C. WCU has won three of the last four against Gardner-Webb. Â
- Gardner-Webb enters the match 3-3 after picking up a 6-1 win over Queens Feb. 22.
