COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Western Carolina track & field team recorded 11 top-10 finishes on Saturday as the Catamounts closed out the South Carolina Invitational inside the Carolina Indoor Track Facility.
Sadler Miller, a two-sport athlete, placed seventh in the women's high jump, clearing a personal best height of 1.50 meters (4'11").
Jasmine Greene earned an eighth-place finish in the invite division of the women's triple jump with a top mark of 11.30 meters (37'1").
In the women's distance medley relay,
Sydney Runyan,
Shaneil Lysight,
Madelynn Duffield, and
Caroline Hilliard teamed up to finish in seventh place with a time of 12:42.03.
Competing in the women's 4x400-meter relay,
Mikayla Turner,
Jasmine Smith,
Taja Booker, and
Nytrinitey Jenkins completed the race in eighth place with a time of 3:55.35.
Jenkins finished 10
th in the women's 200-meter dash, finishing the race with an indoor personal best time of 25.00.
Competing in the invite division of the men's long jump,
Javon Brown earned a sixth-place result with a leap of 6.97 meters (22'10.5") with
Javell Brown finishing eighth thanks to a mark of 6.82 meters (22'4.5").
Jonathan Lehe finished sixth in the men's pole vault after he cleared a height of 4.15 meters (13'7.25").
The quartet of
Henry Stecher,
Nathan Williams,
John Davis, and
Will Mitchell finished in sixth place in the men's distance medley relay with a time of 10:16.13.
In the invite division of the men's triple jump,
Javon Brown was seventh thanks to a leap of 14.63 meters (48'0") with
Javell Brown following in eighth at 14.56 meters (47'9.25").
WCU is back in action next weekend, traveling to Liberty for the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational.
