AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Furman meet for the 91st time on Thursday with the Paladins holding a 51-39 advantage. Furman has won 11-straight against Western Carolina including the meeting earlier this season in Cullowhee, on Jan. 14, defeating the Catamounts 60-46. Western Carolina's last victory over Furman came in the 2016-17 season when WCU took a 75-72 overtime win in Cullowhee. The Catamounts' last win in Greenville was on Jan. 23, 2013, escaping Greenville with an 88-83 win.
  • The 63 points scored by Western Carolina against Samford are the most points scored by the Catamounts in a conference game this season.
  • Rookie Reagan Trumm scored a career-high 17 points against Samford on Feb. 4. It is the sixth time in the year she has scored in double figures.
  • Junior Mya Love has scored in double figures in the last five games and seven of the last eight. In the last five games she is averaging 14.2 points per game. That is four points above her seasonal average of 10.5 points per contest.
  • Kyla Allison is the first Catamount since Jewell Smalls (2018-19, 2019-20) to score 500 or more points in her first two seasons with Western Carolina. She is also looking to be the first WCU player to score 300 or more in a season, she currently has 291, since Smalls scored 379 in the 2019-20 season.
  • Western Carolina and Campbell are two known teams this season who shot over 50 percent from the field and won despite having 30-plus turnovers in the game. WCU defeated Chattanooga 56-48 while the Camels won 55-44 over UNC Asheville.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT FURMAN:
  • Furman (9-14, 1-7 SoCon) will look to halt a five-game losing skid on Thursday versus Western Carolina. The Paladins last win was against Western Carolina.
  • Graduate All-Southern Conference forward Grace van Rij (13.1 ppg) leads Furman in scoring and is coming off a season high 22-point, nine-rebound performance against Wofford that included 9-of-11 shooting from the field.
  • Jaelyn Acker follows van Rij averaging 11 points per contest.
