CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Western Carolina softball team continues an eight-game homestand on Wednesday welcoming the Radford Highlanders to the Catamount Softball Complex for a midweek nonconference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. The updated game time was announced earlier in the week by WCU Athletics officials.
Wednesday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ (

The Catamounts enter Wednesday's game with a 9-15 record after dropping a three-game home series against Furman last weekend.
Brooklynn Brewington had a team-best .545 average during the series with six hits and three runs scored against the Paladins. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, the Andrews, S.C., native finished a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate.
Radford is 8-17 and has lost five straight games after being swept at Winthrop in its Big South Conference opening series last weekend. The Highlanders lost all three games in the series against Winthrop by 2-1 scores. Radford was picked seventh in the eighth-team Big South Conference preseason poll.
The Highlanders and Catamounts have met 17 previous times with the teams most recently splitting a four-game home and home series in 2021.
WCU returns to conference play this weekend, hosting Southern Conference preseason favorite Samford (14-18, 3-0 SoCon) in a three-game series in Cullowhee. All three contests for the series are scheduled to be streamed on ESPN+ (
