Men’s Basketball Announces Addition of Brandon Scott

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina men's basketball head coach Justin Gray today announced the addition of Brandon Scott for the 2023-24 season. Scott, a 6'5" guard, joins the team after spending the previous season at Consumnes River College in Sacramento, Calif.
 
"Brandon comes in hungry looking for an opportunity to prove himself. He excels in the Academics, Basketball, and Character of our program," said head coach Justin Gray. "Brandon has been in college, so he knows what to expect. I am really excited because of his versatility on the court."
 
During the 2022-23 season, Scott led the Hawks with a team-best 16.9 points per game as Consumnes River won the Big 8 Conference title for the first time since the 2015-16 season and was named the MVP. Scott finished in double figures in 25 of 29 games and surpassed the 20-point plateau in 12 games including a season-high 30 points against Santa Rosa on Jan. 31. He also averaged 5.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
 
Scott played at Rider during the 2021-22 season and spent the 2020-21 campaign at Feather River College in Quincy, Calif.
 
A native of Schererville, Ind., Scott prepped at Bishop Noll Institute in Hammond, Ind. and averaged 21.0 points and 7.5 rebounds as a senior.
