CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Western Carolina women's soccer team closes out the nonconference portion of its schedule on Thursday night as the Catamounts travel to Clinton, S.C., to face Presbyterian at 7 p.m. at Martin Stadium.

The Catamounts are 2-2-3 on the season following a 1-1 tie against East Carolina at home on Sunday. The Pirates scored a goal in the first half, but the Catamounts got the equalizer in the 69th minute on a goal by
Milla Syska. WCU had chances to score the winning goal in the waning moments. All three of WCU's home matches this season have ended in draws.
Presbyterian is 1-5-1 following a 3-0 setback at Davidson on Sunday. The Blue Hose are 1-2 at home with a win over Columbia International and losses against Southern Conference foe Furman as well as Navy. PC was picked eighth in the nine-team Big South Conference in the preseason poll.
The teams have never met in a regular season match but have played an exhibition match in Cullowhee during the 2020-21 season.
WCU opens the Southern Conference portion of their schedule on Thursday, Sept. 21 visiting preseason favorite Samford before facing Furman at home on Sunday, Sept. 24.
