CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Longtime archrivals Western Carolina and Appalachian State were scheduled to battle in nonconference women's soccer action on Thursday night at the Catamount Soccer Complex, but a pregame lightning strike led to the match being delayed and ultimately canceled after a delay of roughly two hours from the scheduled start time.
WCU (2-2-2) is back in action on Sunday, hosting in-state directional rival East Carolina at 1 p.m. The match will be broadcast on ESPN+ (paid subscription required) with free live stats available on catamountsports.com.
