Cullowhee, N.C. – Based on unfavorable weather forecasts across the region on Sunday, officials at Western Carolina University have announced that game three of the Southern Conference baseball series between the Catamounts and Samford Bulldogs has been moved to Saturday as part of a doubleheader at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium.
Game two of the conference series is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday now with game three to follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Samford (25-12, 9-1 SoCon) claimed the series opener over Western Carolina (20-15, 5-5 SoCon) on Friday evening 6-4 at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium. The two teams combined for five home runs – three by the Bulldogs and two by the Catamounts – with WCU's three-run, ninth-inning rally providing the final score.
