CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina first-year head men's basketball coach Tim Craft added two more to his 2024-25 roster, welcoming redshirt junior transfer Carson Brown (Miramar Beach, Fla.) and freshman Max Williams (Hanover, Va.) to the squad for the upcoming season.

Brown comes to the mountains after spending the past three seasons at Jacksonville University in Florida. After missing the 2023-24 season due to injury, Brown appeared in 18 games over his first two seasons for the Dolphins. His first collegiate points came as part of an 87-48 win over Webber International in 2021-22 season. In his sophomore campaign, he connected on his first collegiate 3-pointer during a league matchup against North Alabama.

Before Jacksonville, Brown prepped at Florida Coastal Prep and Choctawhatchee High before finishing his prep career at South Walton High School.

Williams joins Western Carolina after spending a prep season at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia where his squad posted a 31-7 record and finished fifth nationally in the rankings. Fork Union also claimed the elite prep league title a season ago.

Prior to his time at Fork Union, Williams played at Hanover High in Virginia where his team was selected to play in the Shenandoah Valley All-Star game and set the single-season wins record.

With the schedule officially released back on Aug. 6, Western Carolina opens the season at home on Nov. 4 by hosting Bob Jones University on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center. All game times, game promotions, and broadcast information will be released at a later date.
