Cullowhee, N.C – Following Monday's "Night in the 'Whee" on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center, and closing in on the start of the 2025-26 season, the Catamount men's and women's basketball under a pair of second-year head coaches travel to Cherokee on Wednesday, Oct. 22, for a special preseason scrimmage dubbed "Basketball on the Boundary."
The Catamount hoops squads are slated for one of their final intrasquad scrimmages ahead of the start of the season, to be held at the Peaches Squirrell Sports & Recreation Complex (
1212 Birdtown Road) in Birdtown. The event is free of charge and open to the public (
first come, first serve on gym seating) and begins at 6 p.m.
Wednesday holds a full afternoon for Catamount basketball on the Qualla Boundary as both teams will host a basketball clinic at Cherokee Central Elementary School. Player and staff will sign autographs and pose for photos with the kids before the two teams go to Birdtown for their respective scrimmages. Scrimmages are currently slated shortly after 6 p.m. featuring alternating 10-minute halves.

Season tickets for the home portion of the 2025-26 Catamount men's and women's basketball seasons are on sale now through the first-floor Ramsey Center Ticket Office, by phone at (828) 227-2401, and online at
CatamountSports.com/BuyTickets. Options include tickets for men's or women's and an "all-hoops" package for every home game in the Ramsey Center for both squads. Single-game tickets for both squads are also on sale.
WCU has a combined 28 home dates on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center including 13 home men's games and 15 for the women's squad with a total of 10 before the winter holiday break.
