Cullowhee, N.C. – Coming off the football team's bye week and counting down to the start of the Catamount men's and women's basketball season, Monday (Oct. 27) marks the return of "Catamount Football Weekly," presented by Stanberry Insurance, live on location at Catamount Jaxe (

Tim Craft will join the "Catamount Coaches Show" to preview the upcoming 2025-26 hoops seasons.
Monday's shows are slated for a 6 p.m. start, with the football team to practice under the lights at 7 p.m. that evening at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field. The "Catamount Coaches Show" will air around 6:30 p.m. Both shows can be viewed on the official Catamount Athletics Facebook page (

Catamount fans are invited out to Catamount Jaxe each week, with weekly trivia to follow immediately after the coach's show. Viewers are invited to submit questions or comments through the Facebook chat feed on the video portal, and each show is automatically archived.
Catamount Jaxe Axe & Social House, located just across NC Hwy 107 from the Ramsey Center, features a lodge feeling at the bar, serving a variety of adult beverages, with axe throwing available for purchase in the back rooms. Located at Prospect Cullowhee, Catamount Jaxe also has an outdoor patio for patrons to enjoy.

Winners of five straight games, Western Carolina (5-3, 4-0 SoCon) football returns to action next Saturday, Nov. 1, with a road trip to the Scenic City and Finley Stadium to face the Chattanooga Mocs (4-4, 3-1 SoCon), which won their third straight with a commanding 49-13 road win at Samford on Saturday. The Catamounts then have back-to-back home dates against Mercer (Nov. 8) for Homecoming and the Blue Ridge Border Battle against ETSU (Nov. 15) before wrapping up the regular season at VMI (Nov. 22) on post in Lexington, Va.

Catamount men's basketball hosts Brevard College in a preseason exhibition on Wednesday, Oct. 29, with a 7 p.m. tip on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center with free admission. WCU's men open the regular season at Cincinnati on Monday, Nov. 3, in Ohio. The Catamount women open the 2025-26 regular season with back-to-back home dates on Thursday, Nov. 6, against Virginia University of Lynchburg and Sunday, Nov. 9, against Tusculum in the Ramsey Center.
