Bloomington, Ind. -- Ally Hollifield nearly posted a double-double for the Catamounts, going for 15 points and seven rebounds against the Indiana Hoosiers as the two teams paced each other in the second half. However, a strong half for Indiana powered the Hoosiers to a 71-44 win.
Hollifield led the Catamounts in scoring with 15 points, rebounding with seven boards, and assists with four.
Ary Dizon ranked second on the team with eight points, while
Grace Pack and
Tina Bowers each recorded six and five rebounds, respectively. Â
Four Hoosiers hit double figures on the day, with Shay Ciezki leading all scorers with 17 points. Lenee Beaumont, Phoenix Stotijn, and Maya Makalusky all recorded 14, 11, and 10 points, respectively.
How it Happened: Â
Indiana opened the game with a 5-0 run before the Catamounts answered to make it a 5-4 game early. The Hoosiers closed the first ten minutes with a 17-4 stretch to take a 22-8 lead into the second quarter. Â
The Hoosiers built on that lead in the second quarter, opening with an 8-0 run before
Grace Pack notched a 3-pointer for WCU. Indiana went on another 8-0 run following Pack's 3-pointer, outscoring WCU 40-13 in the first half.
WCU went on an 8-0 run in the third quarter, with
Ally Hollifield notching five points on her own. Hollifield closed the quarter with another made three-pointer as the Catamounts went to the final quarter. Â
The Catamounts outscored the Hoosiers 13-8 to close out the game, including a 7-2 run to open the final 10 minutes. Tiina Bowers netted the final points of the game for the Catamounts as Indiana took a 71-44 win.

WCU won the rebounding battle against Indiana, going for 34 rebounds to the Hoosiers' 30. 12 of those rebounds for the Catamounts were offensive boards, with WCU posting 11 second-chance points. Â
Indiana capitalized on 21 WCU turnovers with 21 points, while the Catamounts scored 15 points on Indiana's 11 turnovers. Â

WCU is back in home action for four consecutive games, beginning with a pair of non-D1 contests against Montreat on Dec. 30 and South Carolina Central Christian College on Jan. 3. Both games are set to tip at 2:00 p.m.
