Orlando, Fla. -- The good times keep rolling in Florida for the Catamounts as the WCU women's tennis team picked up a 4-0 win over the Lamar Cardinals. The Catamounts took a pair of wins on courts one and three to take the early doubles point before ending the night with wins in seeds 4-6 to take their second victory of the week and their first over the Cardinals.
Angela Perez and
Madison Schwarz rattled off a 6-1 win on court three in doubles to start the night before
Jade Groen and
Chloe Schwarz clinched the point with a 6-2 win on court one.
Isabella Sambola and
Andrea Redondo held a 4-2 advantage on the second court before doubles play concluded.
Hokualohi Lui,
Angela Perez, and
Madison Schwarz won the day for the Catamounts on the back courts, taking all three in straight sets. Lui's bout was the closest of the three, though the freshman Catamount rallied for a hard-fought 7-5 set one win over Emma Palus on the sixth court before finishing the match with a 6-1 win in the second set. Perez (6-3, 6-2) and Schwarz (6-2, 6-4) ended the night with wins on the fifth and fourth courts respectively as the Catamounts picked up their third shutout win of the season.
Isabella Sambola nearly came away with a singles win on the second court, as she had a 6-2, 5-4 advantage when the match was decided.
Chloe Schwarz and
Jade Groen also went unfinished in singles play, as Schwarz was pushed to a third set and Groen had a 1-0 advantage in the third when the Catamounts clinched the match.

The Catamounts are back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Fairfield Stags to close out spring break action at 12:30 p.m. They'll return home to host the NC A&T Aggies on March 21 before welcoming the Samford Bulldogs to Cullowhee on March 23.
