Birmingham, Ala. – Originally bumped by two and a half hours by campus officials to try and wait out the forecasted inclement weather, Western Carolina baseball's Friday night Southern Conference series-opener at Samford was ultimately postponed from Joe Lee Griffin Field.
The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT. Sunday's series finale is scheduled for a 2 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. CT first pitch. All three games will be broadcast on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required), with live stats available through links at CatamountSports.com.
Saturday's scheduled twin bill marks just the fourth of the season for the Catamounts, as WCU split a scheduled doubleheader with Rider back on March 1 and swept two from Eastern Illinois on March 14. WCU split its only weather-altered doubleheader at Mercer on March 29.
