Wyatt Stanley and
Hayden Friese were both selected to the 2025 Coastal Plain League (CPL) All-Star game, scheduled for July 6-7 in Macon, Ga. Stanley, who has been playing for the Morehead City (N.C.) Marlins this summer will be the starting designated hitter for the CPL East All-Stars, while Friese earned his selection in the outfield with the Martinsville (Va.) Mustangs.
Seven players from The Southern Conference are represented in the CPL's 24th annual version of the league's summer classic. VMI has three players rostered – two on the CPL East All-Stars and the third on the CPL West – while WCU's duo is split between the two teams. UNCG and Mercer both have one CPL All-Star that will line up for the CPL West squad. Three of the SoCon's seven were dubbed starters.
The two-day Coastal Plain League All-Star event is scheduled for Sunday, July 6, and Monday, July 7, at Luther Williams Field in Macon, Ga., home of the Macon Bacon. Sunday's events include the All-Star Show & Skills Challenge, with gates opening at 6 p.m. Monday's activities include MLB Scout Day beginning at 2 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. and on-field activities set for 6:25 p.m., ahead of the 7 p.m. first pitch.

At the time of nomination, Friese ranked 12th in the CPL in batting average, hitting .344 (22-of-64) this summer with four doubles and a home run over 17 games played. He has 15 runs scored, while driving home 13 and adding 16 walks and six stolen bases to his offensive output.
Stanley, meanwhile, is batting .272 (22-of-81) over 22 games played with nine extra-base hits, including five doubles, two triples – tied for the most in the league – and a pair of home runs. The left-handed slugger has scored 17 runs with 25 RBI, fourth-most in the CPL.
A combined 23 Catamounts, not including anticipated first-year players or transfers, have played regionally this summer. A late addition to the summer league participants, RHP
Brandon Langley made a short appearance in the prestigious Cape Cod League for the Cotuit Kettleers, going 1-0 in two appearances with four strikeouts over 3.1 innings of scoreless relief.
