Catamount Men’s Golf Concludes the Fall at the Phoenix Invite

54-hole event opens Monday morning in Burlington, N.C.

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina men's golf concludes the fall portion of its 2026-27 schedule on Monday and Tuesday, traveling to the Piedmont for the Elon Phoenix Invitational at the Alamance Country Club in Burlington.

The tournament opens with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday with 36 continuous holes. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13. Live scoring of each round is available online through the Scoreboard app, powered by Clippd.

In addition to the Catamounts and host Elon Phoenix, the 17-team field also includes Appalachian State, Campbell, Charleston Southern, Elon, Gardner-Webb, George Washington, Long Island, Longwood, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, Queens University of Charlotte, Radford, Temple, UNC Wilmington, and West Georgia.

Four schools, including Wake Forest, North Carolina, North Carolina State, and UNCG, have a combined 12 individuals among the 108-golfer field.

Paired with golfers from Campbell, Elon, and UNCW, the Catamount scoring five opens play between holes No. 1-3, with two groups on both the first and third holes.

Returning to action after nearly a two-week layover, the Catamounts have seven golfers in the field, entering a pair of individuals in addition to the five-golfer lineup. Senior Tyler Jones guides the team into its final event of the fall schedule as the No. 1 seed after leading WCU last time out at the Badger Invitational in Wisconsin. He is followed by junior transfer Connor Warren in the No. 2 spot.

Having led the Catamounts for much of the fall semester, senior Jace Butcher is seeded third, followed by classmate Andrew Korytoski. Rounding out the scoring five is senior transfer Andrew Perry.

WCU sophomores Charlie Coe and Connor Williams will vie for the medalist honors playing unattached in the field. Williams posted a bogey-free final-round 70 last time out at the Badger Invitational.
