Women's Basketball Hosts UNCG in Saturday's Senior Day

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's basketball wraps up its 2025-26 regular season on Saturday, hosting instate Southern Conference foe UNC Greensboro in the front end of a Catamount hoops doubleheader on Saturday on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m., with the Catamount men's team scheduled to close out the day against the Furman Paladins in the twin bill nightcap.

Saturday's regular-season finale doubles as WCU's Senior Day, with Ary Dizon, Kehinde Obasuyi, and Grace Pack each being honored for their varied careers in the Purple & Gold.

The Catamounts (3-24, 0-13 SoCon) look to close the regular season with a win and gain momentum heading into the "third season," with next week's 2026 Ingles SoCon Basketball Championship at the Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville. UNCG (13-15, 3-10 SoCon) is looking to pump the brakes on a six-game skid, with just one win in its last 10 outings.

Coverage of Saturday's game is available on ESPN+ (paid subscription required) with a live audio broadcast available for fans through the Catamount Sports Network. Streaming audio and live stats are available through CatamountSports.com.

Full Court Press:
The Catamounts and Spartans meet for the 87th time in program history, with UNCG holding a narrow 45-42 lead in the all-time series. UNCG is on a five-game series winning streak against the Catamounts, though all five of those games have been decided by less than 10 points.

UNCG took the previous meeting earlier this season with a 55-46 win in Greensboro. WCU entered the fourth quarter trailing by 18 points, but posted 22 points in a late surge to narrow the gap.

Both teams are locked into their respective placements for next week's SoCon tournament in Asheville. The Spartans are seventh in the standings and the Catamounts eighth. UNCG's lone win in its previous 10 outings is its 55-46 win over the Catamounts earlier this season.

Players to Watch:
The Catamounts are set to honor three seniors before tip against the Spartans, as Kehinde Obasuyi, Grace Pack, and Ary Dizon finish out the season. The trio has combined 693 points, 332 rebounds, and 119 assists across 104 game appearances for the Catamounts.

Freshman Tina Bowers led the Catamounts in scoring in the previous matchup with UNCG, going 3-for- 3 from 3-point range against the Spartans in the fourth quarter. She recorded 14 points in the game, with Ary Dizon and Taj Hunter posting 12 and 10 points each. Additionally, Dizon recorded five blocks against the Spartans.

USC Upstate transfer Jeni Levine and Makiah Asidanya have led UNCG offensively for much of the season, with the duo averaging 14.3 and 10.8 points per game. Jaila Lee has been effective in the conference slate, going for 10.1 points per game against SoCon foes.

Levine led the Spartans in scoring in the previous meeting with the Catamounts, going for 19 points. Tasia Johnson was the only other Spartan to notch double figures in the win, pulling down 11 rebounds.

Up Next for The Catamounts:
Western Carolina is set for an 11 a.m. tip in Asheville to open the 2026 Ingles Southern Conference Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 5. The Catamounts' opponent for that game is yet to be determined, though, with Chattanooga, Wofford, and ETSU all vying for the SoCon's regular-season crown and the top seed in the conference tournament.
