Mia Miranda Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis was represented on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team as junior Mia Miranda collected her first career CSC honors.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Miranda earns her academic accolades after posting a 3.945 GPA while double-majoring in communication and psychology. The Western Kentucky transfer from Atlanta, Ga., moved up in the Catamount lineup early in the season, collecting five singles wins as the second seed. She posted a three-match winning streak during the season, downing UNC Asheville, Quinnipiac, and Penn with a pair of straight-set victories and a win by retirement.

WCU women's tennis posted a team cumulative GPA of 3.688 for the spring semester.

Miranda and her Catamounts teammates are set to return to the courts for the fall 2026 individual season. When they do so, new Catamount additions Laura Sparnina and Chané Steyn will be set to make their WCU debuts.
