The Western Carolina Department of Athletics today announced a partnership between the Catamount Sports Network and WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 to broadcast the majority of the remaining baseball road schedule, beginning this weekend at the College of Charleston. Each broadcast will feature a 15-minute pre-game show with interviews with WCU head coach Todd Raleigh.
In all, close to 17 regular season games (listed below) and the annual Southern Conference Baseball Tournament in Charleston, S.C., will be aired. In addition to being broadcast over the airwaves on 90.5 FM, live audio will also be available by visiting www.WWCUFM.com or by CLICKING HERE.
"We are proud to be the flagship station of Catamount athletics and are excited about being able to again extend our coverage of Western Carolina sports with the addition of baseball this spring," said student general manager, Kyle McCurry.
This season, WWCU-FM has carried Catamount Sports Network broadcasts of football as well as men's and women's basketball. Over the past three seasons, the station has also aired broadcasts of Catamount soccer and softball, including post-season trips to both the Southern Conference and NCAA tournaments.
In addition to providing game broadcast coverage, WWCU-FM also produces a weekly interactive sports talk show devoted to Catamount athletics. "In the Litterbox" airs every Wednesday night from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Fans can follow all of WCU's home games - and select road contests - with live GameTracker, presented by Carolina West Sports Medicine and West Care Health Systems.
