Western Carolina University

A 2024 graduate of Western Carolina University, Nate Stocum joined the Catamount baseball coaching staff following his graduation as the Director of Player Development.
 
In the summers of 2025 and 2026, Stocum also coached the Hendersonville Honeycrisps of the Old North State League.
 
Stocum appeared in 183 games with 164 starts during his five-year Catamount playing career from 2020 through 2024. Originally from Raleigh, Stocum was a .283 career hitter, concluding his career with 41 home runs to rank tied for ninth in program history. He finished with 40 career doubles and was 22nd in program history with 151 RBI. He was a two-time Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll recipient.
 
Stocum hit a career-best .333 as a senior with a team-best 73 base hits, including 20 homers, tied for the seventh-best single-season in the record books, earning first-team All-Southern Conference plaudits.
 
Stocum earned his degree in entrepreneurship in 2024.
