Biography

Career: Finished his career with 59 HBPs to hold the WCU record and finish second all-time in Southern Conference history behind J.R. Revere of Georgia Southern who had 62 from 1999-02.

2022 (Senior): Saw action in 47 games on the season including 38 starts with 28 in right field, eight in left field, and two as the designated hitter … Batted .314 on the year with 48 hits in 153 at-bats including 18 extra-base hits with 13 doubles and five home runs … Scored 31 runs and drove in 30 including nine with two outs … Finished tied for second on the team with 16 multiple-hit games and had six multiple-RBI efforts … Was hit by a pitch 15 times, tied for third in the Southern Conference … Had a 10-game hitting streak and reached base safely in 16-consecutive during the year … Hit a career-best two home runs in game two of a doubleheader against UT Martin (March 19) … Doubled twice in two games – at home against both Gardner-Webb (April 6) and Mercer (May 7).

2021 (Junior*): Played in 31 games with 22 starts including 17 starts in right field, four in center field, and once as the designated hitter … Batted .203 with 13 hits including three doubles and a home run … Drove in six runs and scored 17 times on the year … Added 10 walks and 12 HBPs as a part of his .402 on-base percentage … Stole two bases … Recorded 41 putouts in the field … Tallied a two-hit game at Wofford (April 2) …  Belted a ninth-inning, three-run home run to left field at Gardner-Webb (April 7), for a career-best three RBI … Matched a career-best, single-game high with two walks against Samford (April 16-17) … Was the Leggett No. 7 Legacy recipient.

2020 (Junior): Played in 15 games on the season with 14 starts coming in the outfield … Batted .216 on the season (11-for-51) with five doubles and a triple … Tallied three, two-hit games with four, two-RBI outings ... Finished the shortened season with a team-best 12 RBI including seven two-out RBI, the most on the team … Was hit by a team-high 11 pitches through the first 15 games of the season – the 11 HBPs were just outside the top 25 in program single-season history … Added seven walks to his .420 on-base percentage … Recorded 28 putouts and three assists in the outfield … Was hit by a pitch a career-high three times in the season-opener against Chicago State (Feb. 14) … Legged out a career-best two doubles in game one of a doubleheader against Chicago State (Feb. 15) on opening weekend ... Named 2020 Spring Academic All-Southern Conference and to the 2019-20 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll … Season shortened because of the COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of spring sports in mid-March.

2019 (Sophomore): Played in 52 of the team’s 53 games with 41 starts including 34 in left field, three as the designated hitter, two apiece between center and right field … Finished the season with a .238 batting average collecting 35 hits in 147 at-bats with 15 extra base hits including nine doubles, a triple, and five home runs … Finished with seven multiple-hit games and four multiple-RBI outings … Drew 13 walks and was hit by 18 pitches, second-most in the SoCon … Named the Southern Conference Baseball Player of the Week on March 11 after finishing the week 5-for-9 (.556) with three doubles … Enjoyed a career-long six-game hitting streak in early March … Legged out his first career triple against Gardner-Webb (March 20) … Belted his first career home run at ETSU (March 22) … Went a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and a home run in a road win at UNCG (March 31) with the four hits representing a career-high … Homered and doubled in the SoCon Baseball Championship ... Named to the 2019 Spring Academic All-Southern Conference team and to the 2018-19 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

2018 (Freshman): Saw action in 19 games with three starts, each coming in the outfield – twice in right field and once in left field … Hit .200 on the season with three hits – all singles – in 15 plate appearances, adding three walks and three HBPs to reach base at a .429 clip … Scored a combined five runs in his rookie campaign … Made his collegiate debut as a pinch hitter in the season-opening weekend at East Carolina (Feb. 16) … Stole his first base as a collegian at The Citadel (March 24) … Tallied his first career base hit in a pinch-hit role at VMI (April 13) on an infield single to third base … Posted his first career multiple-hit game with a 2-for-2 showing with a pair of singles against VCU (May 19) as a substitution in games played in Forest City, N.C. … Named to the 2017-18 Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Prior to Western Carolina: Batted .340 with 15 extra base hits including seven doubles, six triples, and two home runs while driving in 25 as a junior ... Played for the East Cobb Patriots summer team ... Also played football as a prep, primarily as a wide receiver and kick returner, amassing over 1,300 all-purpose yards in 2015 ... Earned Freshman Offensive Player of the Year.
