Prior to Western Carolina: Transfer from Rock Hill (S.C.) and completed his high school education at Smoky Mountain HS, though he did not play football ... Played linebacker as a prep, recording 91 tackles including 34 solo stops and four sacks as a senior at Rock Hill HS.

Personal: His older brother, Tyler Klipa, played football at WCU and is the strength & conditioning and wide receivers coach at SMHS.
