Todd Shealy joined the Western Carolina football staff as the Director of Football Operations in the spring of 2021. Shealy’s background includes extensive managerial experience and eight years at the intercollegiate level working at his alma mater, the University of Florida in athletics’ administration. He also spent a season in administration with the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte.
Shealy’s background includes 20 years of experience in the private sector, managing teams in real estate brokerage and professional staffing. Since 2006, he owned and operated the Focus Real Estate Group, Inc., based in Gainesville, Fla., developing and sharpening leadership, business, and operational skills.
Shealy’s professional career began at Florida in 1988 working in athletics administration that included responsibility for the Student-Athlete Insurance Program which set the standard for other NCAA Division I programs to follow. While with the Gators, Florida won five national championships in women’s indoor track & field (1992), women’s tennis (1992), men’s golf (1993), women’s tennis (1996), and football (1996). He was also on staff for five SEC football championships (1991, 1993-96) and he also aided and supported the NCAA Regional Championships across multiple sports including the 1994 NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four.
Shealy is a 1988 graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s in sports administration. He is married to the former Beth Watkins and the couple has four children; Austin, Hayley, Hunter, and Jaron.
