2025-26 (Graduate Transfer): Appeared in 30 games with starts coming in 23 games during his debut season with the Catamounts... averaged 11.6 points per game, ranked third on the team with 312 points scored, one of seven Catamounts to eclipse 200 points scored... reached double figures in 18 games with a season-high 25 points coming against Chattanooga (Feb. 14) on 9-of-15 shooting with a season-high 6-of-10 threes made... added 23 points on 8-of-13 field goals against Stetson (Nov. 16)... 10 games in conference play with double-figure scoring as he finished third on the team with 12.4 points per game in SoCon games... finished third on the team with 109 made field goals at a 42.1% clip, with a season-high nine made field goals against Chattanooga... buried 61 field goals at a 43.6% clip in league games... finished in a tie for 10th in the league with a team-best 64 made threes at a 39.8% rate... pulled down 84 rebounds with a season-best eight against Stetson (Nov. 16), Furman (Jan. 3), The Citadel (Jan. 10)... had six games with five or more rebounds... totaled 59 assists, with a season-best six against Stetson... had 11 games with three or more helpers... picked up 21 steals with four games of two or more steals... played a season-high 35 minutes at Furman (Jan. 3)....
PRIOR TO WCU:Â Soumaoro spent last season at East Carolina after playing three years with Craft in Boiling Springs at Gardner-Webb. The Bronx, N.Y. native appeared in eight games in Greenville before receiving a medical waiver that allows him to play this season in Cullowhee. He played in 92 games over three years at Gardner-Webb, where he totaled 768 points, 179 rebounds, and 179 assists. During his 2022-23 season in Boiling Springs, Soumaoro posted a team-best 79.2% at the free-throw line for the Runnin' Bulldogs, while also connecting on a 3-pointer in 24 of 30 games. In 2023-24, Soumaoro averaged 12.7 points per game, including 21 games in double figures with a season-high 27 against Weber State. Before his time in Greenville and Boiling Springs, Soumaoro played a postgraduate season at Woodstock Academy in Massachusetts after starring at NYC powerhouse Cardinal Hayes. He was the second-leading scorer in the famed Catholic High School Athletic Association with an average of 21.3 points per game as a senior. Soumaoro was a first-team All-CHSAA All-League selection in 2019-2020 and earned second-team All-NYSSWA Class AA All-State honors. He also played for the famed Riverside Hawks AAU program, the same program that has suited up some of the finest point guards in New York City, including Kenny Anderson, Mark Jackson, Kenny Smith, Pearl Washington, Rod Strickland, and others.
