John Williams - ATC - 2024 - HEAD

John Williams

John Williams joined the Catamount sports performance staff in June 2024. At WCU, Williams will primarily work with men’s basketball, volleyball, and women’s tennis, while also assisting both with the football program in the David & Marie Brinkley Athletics Weightlifting Facility.
 
Williams made the move to Cullowhee after serving as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at the University of West Florida. During his time in Pensacola, Fla., Williams specifically worked with football, men’s basketball, volleyball, and tennis programs.
 
Prior to West Florida, Williams was a professional intern at the University of Minnesota where he worked with the basketball and golf programs while assisting with the baseball and wrestling teams, as well as directing the strength and conditioning efforts of their spirt squads.
 
Williams experience in the collegiate ranks began at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., where he was the head strength and conditioning coach from 2017 until 2021, directing the sports performance initiatives for all 13 teams.
 
Williams received his Bachelor of Science degree in sport and exercise science from the University of Central Florida in 2015. He was awarded his master's degree in human performance from the University of West Florida in the summer of 2024.
 
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach Association (CSCAA).
