Prior to Western Carolina: Broke the school record in Cross Country at Catawba College with a personal best 18:22... Was named to the all-conference first team and all-freshman team... Also collected all-region honors.

High School: Four-year letterwinner at South Rowan High School... Earned all-county and all-conference honors during her freshman campaign in cross country... Participated in the North Carolina state cross country meet as a freshman... Broke the school record in the 4x800, earning all-county and all-conference accolades in 2005... Selected to the all-region team in cross country and track... Finished her career as the school's record holder in the 4X800... Selected as the Piedmont Conferene's Runner of the Year in 2007... Earned all-state honors in the indoor mile run during her senior year.
