Evan Barr came to Cullowhee in January from Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga., where he oversaw the Eagles' 15 intercollegiate sports and also served as the fledgling football program's Strength & Conditioning Coach. He spent the spring working with the Catamount football team during their off-season training while also overseeing the entire weight room.

Prior to making the move to northwest Georgia, Barr was the Director of Athletic Performance at Performance QSA, an athletic performance studio in Greenville, S.C.

Operating a self-named sports training business in Athens, Tenn., since 2009, Barr additionally has collegiate experience from the University of Tennessee and Southern Conference-member, Furman University, working as a Strength & Conditioning intern. In April of 2009 and 2010, he worked with over 500 athletes in starting and directing the Orange & White Youth Football Camp in Knoxville, Tenn.

Originally from Madisonville, Tenn., where he grew up on a farm, Barr graduated with a degree in exercise science from Tennessee, spending two years as a walk-on with the Volunteers' football program under head coach Phillip Fulmer. Barr and his wife, Rebecca, have a son, James Lawrence.
