Eileen Van Horn joined the Western Carolina women's basketball staff as an assistant in May 2022.
She comes to Western Carolina from Vermont University.
In the 2021-22 season, Van Horn helped navigate Vermont to its first 20- win season since 2009-10, with a record of 20-11 as the team reached the semi-finals of the American East Championships. With her assistance, four players from this past season’s Vermont squad earned post-season honors.
While at Vermont she was involved in all aspects of recruiting and helped develop the Catamount guards. She assisted three different Vermont guards to all-conference honors during her stint as an assistant.
Before taking on the role as an assistant coach at Vermont, she spent a season as the Catamounts’ Director of Basketball Operations.
Before arriving at Vermont, Van Horn was the Director of Basketball Operations at her alma mater, Marist. She served in this role from 2016-to 2018.
Van Horn was a four-year member of the Marist women’s basketball team. As a guard, she helped the team to two appearances in the NCAA Championships (2013, 2014) after the Red Foxes won the MAAC Championships (2013, 2014).
She was a member of the All-MAAC Academic Team (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015) earning a Bachelor’s of Art in Communications in 2016 and her Master’s of Arts in Communications in August 2018.
