Shyla Coleman transitioned to assistant coach in late July, 2019 after coming on board as the Director of Basketball Operations for Western Carolina women's basketball in June 2019.

She has spent the last two seasons assisting head coach Kiley Hill lead the Catamounts in moving the team in a new direction.  

Coleman spent two seasons as a graduate assistant for Clemson women’s basketball. She graduates in August 2019 with a Master’s Degree in Athletic Leadership.

While a graduate assistant for the Tigers, Coleman coordinated recruiting visits, assisted in social media posts, organized team meals and assisted with travel plans. She also assisted the coaching staff in travel plans for recruiting, oversaw the team’s managers and assisted with team camp planning and organization.

Prior to pursuing her master’s degree and graduate assistant responsibilities at Clemson, Coleman was a four-year women’s basketball player at Southern Wesleyan University receiving her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015.
