High School Soccer: Three year varsity starter at Smithsburg High School (Smithsburg, MD). In his junior year, Fowkes won the MVAL Conference and the County Championship. He was also a captain in his senior season.
Club Soccer: Played at FC Frederick on the FC Frederick 91 Premier Team in the National Capital Soccer League for 4 seasons. Andy primarily played center back and center defensive midfielder. He also played in the Super Y League for FC Frederick.
College Soccer: Played two years at Hagerstown Community College (Hagerstown, MD). Fowkes was only the second player in program history to be a two year captain. In his first season he anchored the center of midfield and netted one goal for the Hawks. During his first season, after a 6-0 start, the Hawks earned their first ever national ranking. They were ranked #17 in the nation. That year Hagerstown reached the regional semi-finals. In his second season as captain, Fowkes started 17 of 18 games and netted one game winning goal along with two helpers. Hagerstown would reach the regional semi-finals for the second consecutive season before being eliminated by the eventual region champs. At the end of his career, teammates voted Fowkes as being the hardest working and most dedicated player on the team; embodying what Hawks soccer is about. Fowkes left Hagerstown Community College being part of the most successful class in Men's Soccer.
After transferring from Hagerstown Community College with an Associate's Degree in Business, Fowkes joined the Catamount Soccer Staff. Andy has been working with the Catamounts since spring of 2009.
Fowkes holds an E-License in coaching through the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association.
He is the son of Bill and Jill Fowkes ... His sister, Shannon Fowkes, played from 2006-2009 for the Catamounts and was a part of the SoCon Championship team in 2008.
Fowkes is Finance major and will graduate in the Fall of 2012.
