Greg Hartlage joined the Catamount Athletics Media Relations staff as a Director of Media Relations in June 2023. He came to Cullowhee after spending five years as a part of the Athletic Communications staff at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. Hartlage serves as the primary Athletics Media Relations contact for volleyball, men's basketball, and softball, and is a secondary contact for football and baseball.

During his time at Presbyterian, Hartlage served as the primary sport for baseball, women’s basketball, women’s golf, women’s tennis, volleyball, cross country and football. His experience includes all aspects of media relations including statistics, release writing, and website maintenance. He also has broadcast experience including play-by-play announcing in streaming home broadcasts on ESPN+ for baseball, volleyball and lacrosse.Â
During his tenure with the Blue Hose, he spent time overseeing game operations for home events and was the primary contact for student workers. Was the contact for the first Big South Championship in program history in 2021 that led to PC traveling to the Nashville Regional. Was also the contact for 2021 Men’s Tennis Championship. During his time with Presbyterian, he was the primary contact for three Big South Scholar Athletes of the Year.  Â
Prior to Presbyterian, Hartlage spent time as a communications intern at both the University of North Florida (UNF) and the University of Louisiana Monroe (ULM). At UNF, he worked directly with the Ospreys volleyball, beach volleyball, and baseball programs, which included running the media relations operation for the 2018 ASUN Baseball Championship held at UNF in May of 2018.

Prior to UNF, Hartlage spent a year as a media relations assistant at ULM where he was responsible for the publicity of the Warhawks men's basketball, women's soccer, women's tennis, cross country, track and field, and men's and women's golf. He also aided with baseball, football, and softball while in Monroe.

Before ULM, Hartlage was a student intern in the sports information office at UNC Charlotte helping with all sports in varying capacities. During his time with the 49ers, he was involved in the first three seasons of college football at the school, which included year one of FBS football. Hartlage was also a regular on the sidelines or in the press box for men's & women's soccer, baseball and men's & women's basketball in a variety of activities, including scoring, social media and/or behind the video camera.

Highlights during his time at Charlotte included supporting the second & third round of the 2015 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, 2013 & 2015 C-USA Men's Soccer Championships, 2014 C-USA Women's Soccer Championship, and 2013 A-10 Baseball Championship.

A native of Lake Orion, Mich., Hartlage earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from UNC Charlotte in 2015, where he worked with the 49ers sports information staff.
