Jordan Madrid - HEAD - 2025

Jordan Madrid

Jordan Madrid joined the Catamount sports performance staff in July 2025. At WCU, Madrid will primarily work with baseball, women’s golf, and men’s golf in the David & Marie Brinkley Athletics Weightlifting Facility.

Coach Madrid makes the move to Cullowhee after serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for baseball at Mississippi State University. During his time in Starkville, Miss., Coach Madrid worked with baseball as he helped to designed and implemented programs for the team throughout his time there.

Prior to Mississippi State, he spent a year in Blacksburg at Virginia Tech where he spent the majority of his time with baseball, wrestling and men’s cheerleading. He helped lead full team lifts, agility work and conditioning for numerous teams at VT including baseball, women’s golf, men’s golf, women’s tennis, soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, and track & field.

He began his experience in the collegiate ranks as an intern working at UNCW & Duke. While at Duke, Coach Madrid assisted in the design and implementation of training programs for the men’s lacrosse redshirts as well as assisted with an assortment of other Olympic sport teams while mainly working with baseball.

Prior to Duke, Coach Madrid worked at UNC Wilmington as an intern where he designed and implemented strength & conditioning programs for men’s golf and women’s tennis. While with the Seahawks, he also assisted the full-time staff with all nineteen sports teams while primarily working with baseball. 

Coach Madrid received his Bachelor of Science degree in health fitness specialist from East Carolina University in 2022.
 
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
