Michael Gilbert has been named the Director of Ticket Operations for Western Carolina Athletics, officially taking the position on July 3, 2023. In his role, Gilbert will oversee all ticket operations for Catamount Athletics.
 
Gilbert has spent the 2022-23 academic year as the marketing and ticketing assistant within Catamount Athletics where he was an integral part of the operations in the Athletics Ticket Office including the transition to the AudienceView ticketing platform. He was a part of helping WCU set an all-time program high for football season ticket sales in 2022, while also exceeding projections in the three additional ticketed Catamount sports.
 
With a year of experience at WCU, Gilbert served as the primary contact in the Athletics Ticket Office since late April 2023.
 
Prior to coming to Cullowhee in the summer of 2022, Gilbert worked as an operations assistant with Pure Fire Media where he oversaw the media, marketing, and advertising operations.
 
Born and raised in Chicago, Gilbert calls Bloomington, Ind., home. He graduated from Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind., with a degree in sport management in the summer of 2021. While an undergraduate, Gilbert was the community engagement and fundraising coordinator for his fraternity, Alpha Sigma Phi. His entrance into intercollegiate athletics came as a sport marketing at his alma mater, ISU.
