Randy W. Wood II joined the Catamount men's basketball staff as the Director of Basketball Operations during the off-season prior to 2011-12. His duties include overseeing all aspects of the team's travel as well as film exchange. He also works with the Catamount youth basketball camps.

Wood is a 2008 graduate of Western Carolina where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education with a minor in health. During his time as an undergraduate, he served as the head boys basketball coach at both the Cullowhee Valley and Waynesville Middle Schools. Following his graduation, Wood accepted a position as an assistant varsity coach and head JV basketball coach at Eastern Randolph High School in Ramseur, N.C., where he served from 2008 until returning to Cullowhee in 2011.

Wood was born in Hammondsport, N.Y., where he lived until moving to Tobaccoville, N.C., in 1996. He is a graduate of North Forsyth High.
