Rheanna Elliott joined the Western Carolina University Athletics staff as an Athletic Academic Advisor in 2024 after serving in multiple academic support roles at East Carolina University.
At WCU, Elliott works primarily with men’s and women’s golf, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s track and field along with both cross country programs.
During her time at ECU, Elliott served as a Learning Specialist, Academic Coordinator Graduate Assistant, and Tutor Coordinator Graduate Assistant within Student-Athlete Academic Services.
She worked closely with student-athletes from a variety of sports including football, basketball, softball, volleyball, swimming and diving, providing individualized academic support, implementing learning assessments, and managing tutor and mentor assignments.
Prior to going to East Carolina, Elliott's professional experience includes reading and analyzing Kane Learning Difficulties Assessments (KLDA), creating objective-based study hall sessions, and developing academic success plans for both domestic and international student-athletes. She also played a key role in onboarding new student-athletes and enhancing the academic documentation and reporting processes for support staff.
Originally from Valdese, North Carolina, Elliott earned her Bachelor of Science in English Education, graduating Cum Laude from East Carolina University in 2023. She completed her Master of Arts in English Studies in 2024, along with a certificate in Teaching English in the Two-Year College.
