“The team is excited to be opening up this weekend at the Clemson Opener,” head coach Jesse Norman stated. “This is an opportunity for us to see what all of our fall work has done for us. We've done a great job of working hard, even in light of having our track facility being offline the past month due to upgrades. I believe that we'll surprise ourselves in how we perform this weekend while also giving the coaching staff an opportunity to see what we need to work on going forward into the indoor season."
During the 2019-20 indoor season, WCU won its sixth straight men's SoCon title with the women's team finishing as the runner-up. Christina Nikolaou set a new school record in the women's 1,000-meter run along with multiple event wins and personal bests for both the men's and women's teams.
