Asheville, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's volleyball team swept UNC Asheville 3-0 Wednesday night in Justice Gymnasium. With the win, the Lady Cats are at .500 with a 12-12 overall record.
Western Carolina started the match with a 15-9 victory over Asheville in game one. The team did not let up following it with at 15-6 win in game two. Asheville fought back in game three, however, could not handle WCU. The Lady Cats recorded 27 kills as a team in game three, compared to Asheville's 25 kills.
Junior Christy Attebery led the match with 25 kills and 15 digs for the double-double. Also recording double figures was freshman Pamela Stein with 13 kils and junior setter Bri Milan-Willimas with 48 assists.
UNC Asheville (9-15) was led by Heather Terrell with 13 kills and 10 digs, while Kelly Budnik added 12 kills and 10 digs.
