Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina volleyball team shut down Wofford in a 3-0 victory over the Southern Conference opponent, Thursday night in the Ramsey Center.
Junior Christy Attebery led the match with 15 kills and 11 digs to lead her team to a six game winning streak. Junior setter Bri Milan-Williams recorded 38 assists in the match and sophomore Cindy Camp notched 10 digs.
Western Carolina dominated in game two with a 15-3 victory after winning game one 15-10. The Lady Cats started out slowly in game three allowing Wofford to gain an 8-7 lead. Western came from behind to win the game 15-12.
Leading the way for Wofford was sophomore Janna Webb with 10 kills, while freshman Chelsea Grimsley added eight.
Western Carolina will host a tri-match with Mercer and N.C. A&T Saturday, November 4. WCU will play Mercer at 10:00 a.m. then N.C. A&T at 4:00 p.m. Mercer and N.C. A&T will play at 1:00 p.m.
