Western Volleyball Falls to Davidson 0-3

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina women's volleyball fell to a 1-2 Southern Conference record after a 0-3 loss to Davidson Sunday afternoon in the Ramsey Center.

Both teams fought hard in the third game recording a total of 38 kills on 124 attempts. Davidson started game three with a 13-6 lead over Western when a service ace by WCU's Bri Milan-Willams started 5-1 run by Western. The Lady Catamounts forced four sideouts at game point however lost when a kill by Davidson's Katherine Lorenz won the match.

Davidson jumped ahead of Western in games one and two with Western unable to catch up. WCU took a 3-2 lead early in game two, the team's only lead of the match, however, could not hold on.

Junior Christy Attebery recorded 18 of the team's kills with freshman Pamela Stein adding 14. Attebery also led the team in digs with 16 and Milan-Williams led with 38 assists.

Davidson senior Mara Mordini led the match with 20 kills while junior Erica Schwartz led with 47 assists.

Western Carolina will travel to Samford University for the Samford Tournament Friday and Saturday, September 22-23. WCU falls to 2-7, 1-2 while Davidson improves to 5-6, 2-1.
