Final Stats
Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's volleyball team never trailed as it shutout regional rival UNC Asheville, 3-0, Wednesday night in Reid Gymnasium.
The Cats (13-8) came out strong in the first and second games to win 30-12 and 30-14, respectfully. The Lady Bulldogs (4-13) fought back in game three to tie the game at 26. However, Western went on a 4-1 run to win game three, 30-27, and complete the sweep.
Freshman Tricia Eble led the team in hitting percentage with .625 (11-1-16). Three Catamounts recorded double-doubles. Sara Komosinski notched 11 kills and 11 digs. Christy Attebery recorded match highs with 16 kills and 14 digs. Sophomore Shari Harder, who was the setter in games two and three, tallied 20 assists and 11 digs.
Western Carolina will return to Southern Conference action when it hosts UNC Greensboro, Saturday, October 20 at 2:00 p.m. and Davidson, Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m.
