Final Stats

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Western Carolina defeated Davidson 30-16, 30-25 and 30-21, Wednesday evening in volleyball from Belk Arena. The Catamounts (16-8, 11-3 SoCon) have won four consecutive matches.

Davidson jumped on top of Western Carolina early in game one, taking six of the first seven points. The Wildcats maintained a five-point advantage until 12-7. A kill by WCU's Pamela Stein started a nine-point run for the Catamounts to take the lead, 16-12. Western Carolina's Shari Harder had four service aces during the stretch. That number ties her career-high that she set against Davidson four days earlier. Davidson would only win four more points in the opening game as the Catamounts prevailed, 30-16.

Western Carolina held the lead throughout the second game. Junior Roberta Quis' kill got the Wildcats within one point of the lead at 24-23, but the Catamounts took the next three points and took a 30-25 win from Davidson.

The Catamounts hit a match-high .298 in the game three triumph. Western's Christy Attebery finished with 14 kills to lead all players.

Western Carolina next hosts Georgia Southern on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.
