Final Stats

CONWAY, S.C. - The Western Carolina volleyball team defeated Coastal Carolina, 3-2 (28-30, 30-26, 30-32, 25-30, 15-12) in the night cap of the first day of the CCU Classic at Kimbel Arena.

The Lady Cats (6-3) were led by Michelle Gorton who had 22 kills and Tricia Eble with 17 of her own. Setter Shari Harder had 56 assists to help pace the Catamounts.

CCU (4-3) was led by senior Jeanne Lambert who had 18 kills as well as Katie Knutson and Carly Draudt who had 13 each. Jennifer Hampton had 56 assists for the Lady Chants.

In match one, Pittsburgh (4-4) routed Savannah State, 3-0 (30-4, 30-3, 30-4). Wendy Halstead unofficially had 19 kills, while, Carrie Norris had 42 assists.

The final day of the 2002 CCU Classic will begin Saturday at 10 am in Kimbel Arena.
