Women's Volleyball Catamount Athletics

WCU volleyball sweeps High Point, 3-0

High Point, N.C. - Western Carolina swept High Point, 3-0, in volleyball action Saturday afternoon at the Millis Center. The line score was 30-14, 30-16, 30-23. With the victory, the Catamounts improve to 12-4, while the Panthers fall to 1-14. It was WCU's sixth-consecutive victory, and the fourth-straight loss for the Panthers.

Western Carolina used a balanced attack, as eight players had at least three kills, led by a match-high nine from Sara Komosinski. Robyn Everly had 10 digs for the Catamounts, while Komosinski led WCU with five blocks. Alex Arendell had 25 assists.

Tracyann Pryce led HPU with seven kills and four blocks. April Shields provided 14 digs for the Panthers.

"We just played very solid volleyball today," said head coach Angell Benson. "All of the freshman played and got some good experience, and they did a great job."

Western Carolina travels to Elon later on today, while High Point returns to Big South play when it hosts Winthrop Tuesday night at the Millis Center at 7 pm.
