Johnson City, Tenn. - The East Tennessee State Lady Buccaneers swept past Western Carolina 3-0 (30-21, 30-19, 30-28) Tuesday night in Brooks Gym, extending their school-record winning streak to 14 consecutive matches. The match also concluded the non-conference portion of WCU's 2006 schedule.

Western was led by junior Meredith Harmon with 11 kills on a .345 attack percentage. The Villa Hills, Ky., native had 29 total attacks with just one error and one block in the defeat. Freshman Lauren Brown just missed double-figures, tallying eight kills, with her classmate, Katie Hennessey, posting the team's lone double-double with 28 set assists and 11 digs.

Defensively, freshman libero Liz Rondone led WCU with 18 digs. The Bloomington, Ill., native currently has 691 and is just 46 digs shy of breaking the Southern Conference's single-season digs record held by last season's freshman of the year, UTC's Lara Newberry, with three regular season matches remaining. According the most recent NCAA statistics, Rondone ranks inside the top 15 overall and is the lone freshman inside the top 30 in digs per game (6.01).

ETSU (23-5) out hit Western, .323-to-.142 and had three more team blocks than did the Catamounts for the match en route to the win.

Three Lady Bucs reached double figures in kills led by a match-high 19 from Callie Kiselich, 13 from Crystal Palmer, and a dozen from Jennifer Sartor. Setter Jennifer Emerson recorded ETSU's lone double-double with 42 assists and 15 digs.
