Western Carolina had the advantage for most of set three, leading 20-18 before UNCG tied the contest at 20 off a kill by Caley Redden. The set was again tied at 21 and 22 when three straight attack errors by the Catamounts gave the set to the Spartans.

The Catamounts continued to be competitive in the fourth set and late in the set tied it at 23. However, a pair of kills by Emily Lindborg gave the set and the match to UNCG.

Western Carolina closed out the 2009 season on Sunday hosting Elon at 3 p.m. The Catamounts will honor seniors Amanda Kerr, Ronone and Hennessey.
