ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Western Carolina volleyball (0-4) dropped a mid-week match 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-17) to UNC (3-2) Asheville Wednesday.

Amanda Kerr led the Catamounts with eight kills. As a whole, the club struggled on the attack, with 25 kills and committed 24 errors for a .012 attack percentage.

The Bulldogs set the tone early, earning the first four points of game one to lead 4-0. The UNCA went on to win 25-13. Western Carolina had the lead three times in game one before the Bulldogs went on a 5-0 run to pull ahead and take game two.

In the third game, there were four ties and two lead changes but Asheville began to pull away late in the set. Leading 17-14, the Bulldogs went on a 4-0 run helped by two kills from Benorden and two attack errors to build the margin to 21-14. Asheville won the game and match 25-17.

Western Carolina returns to action Friday facing Bradley at 7 p.m. in the Radford Invitational.
